Ultimus Customer Receives a Process Innovation Award

Kinetic Information Honors Prince William County for Impressive Cost and Time Savings Through the Use of BPM

Cary, N.C. — December 18, 2006 — Ultimus, the #1 provider of Business Process Management (BPM) and workflow software and solutions, with more than 1,600 customers worldwide, today announced that Prince William County in Virginia, a longstanding Ultimus customer, is a second-place winner in the prestigious Process Innovation Award program.

The strategic business consultancy Kinetic Information LLC recognized the county with an award in the Innovative Solutions category for the impressive cost and time savings it achieved through its use of the Ultimus BPM Suite with Adaptive Discovery®.

Created in 1996 to honor superior applications for their business effectiveness, and co-sponsored by IMERGE Consulting, the Process Innovation Awards honor organizations that have implemented applications that are returning significant business benefits. Prince William County achieved notable time and cost saving benefits, recouping 100 percent of its Ultimus investment in less than one and a half years.

With the Ultimus BPM Suite in place, the county optimized operations in its payroll and HR departments without having to add the two additional staff members that would have been required to keep up with its workload prior to the software deployment.

“Prince William County is an excellent example of how government agencies can continually gain process improvements and create service-oriented relationships between employees and local citizens,” said Rick Thompson, chief marketing officer of Ultimus. “We’re pleased that they have been recognized for utilizing our technology to drive significant change.”

Award winners are selected based on process improvements that lead to gains in at least one of the following areas: productivity, profitability, ability to adapt to market conditions, or competitive standing/market share. Judging was performed by an independent panel of industry experts that included Bryant Duhon of AIIM International; Elizabeth Gooding of Art Plus Technology; Melinda Moses of MSM Strategic Marketing; Don Post of IMERGE Consulting; and Peter Johnston of Kinetic Information LLC.

“BPM solutions regularly create significant business value through process change initiatives,” said Steve Weissman, President, Kinetic Information LLC. “Prince William County has demonstrated how the technology can truly transform day-to-day business experiences and stands an excellent example of how to best utilize process improvements.”
